HED is coordinated by an international project team - a group of 21 active European youngsters who work voluntarily for something they believe in!
HERE WE ARE:
Diana Yolova - Project Manager
"Exactly today, there is a need for intensive dialogue in the field of Higher Education, youth policies and youth participation in wider context. HED is not only another chance for me to test myself and to ameliorate what I know or my qualities, experience, but a new challenge. It is a unique opportunity to reach a higher level as I strongly believe that the Higher Education is enough important for young people!
Life is like a school in which we come to study, to develop ourselves, to improve our knowledge and virtues. We go up to the upper class with one simple goal: knowledge, improvement and perfection! But even if we make a mistake, we suppose to learn from it, to be grateful for the opportunities and of course never give up! Therefore already today and even more tomorrow, Europe HAS TO BE a place, where young people are IMPORTANT figures in the society, who actively participates in decision-making and determination of decisions of development. So…………why not with HED?"
Jorge Miguel - Content Manager on Non-Formal Education
“I was born in Spain as I could be born in any other place of Europe or the world; but I still love my country. I studied sport sciences in León, where I joined AEGEE-León in Spring 2009.
Almost since the first time I heard about EWG, I was curious about what are the activities AEGEE organizes concerning educational matters and when I attended my first Agora (Leiden, Spring 2010) I decided to become active at European level and to join EWG. Once taking part in HED project, I started being PR responsible for several months until the HED restructuring lead me to my current position, as content manager for Non-Formal Education (NFE).
I like to travel around in a non-stop race for discovering new places, meeting new people and continue learning and developing myself. I am really interested in social and emotional learning, and NFE plays a very important role on it. My biggest aim in life it's to bring a better education to this world...
Moreover, I like HED a lot, but I also hope the project will finish someday... :P"

If I should describe myself with a few sentences I would say:” Lora Lyubenova, she is a political scientists and she could not think as nothing else accept political scientist. She has not grown up enough to be a politician, yet. Actually, it is not sure that she wants to grow up. She likes to live in Dreamland, where she is dreaming about Higher education which gives us equal start and opportunities in the life to succeed! That’s why she is Content Manager on Bologna Process. She is proud to be part of AEGEE- Sofia. Her life is just her work! But in her free time: She loves to cook for friends! She loves to watch old black and white movies! She loves to write boring papers and to dance on Micheal Jackson’s songs in a break of it. In short she- Lora Lyubenova – loves to love!

Adela Militaru - Documentation / research Responsible
The HED project represents for me an opportunity and a try to make a difference in the field of Higher Education, a field that has formed me and that directly concerns a very wide number of young people.
My interest in the topic of Education is also of a professional nature, since my current studies focus on School Counseling and on Educational Psychology.
Moreover, the HED project has been a chance to work in a lovely team of motivated young people, who can still dream and actively work for achieving what they wish for, not only for their own benefit, but for sustaining the development of society as a whole, that can only be done through assuring quality education."
Antonis Triantafyllakis - Documentation / research Responsible
"Higher Education... The title itself sounds a bit ironic nowadays, with the educational system being based on an outdated labor market system that is now resulting in an inflation of people expendable and specialized just like products, tailored to the needs of linear consumerism instead of a sustainable evolution that would result in happiness for all instead of continuous antagonism. Luckily, it has also provided us with the tools to change it. Tools that make intercultural and international communication and cooperation, direct democracy and non-formal education a piece of cake. HED is using a piece of that cake, so that's the reason I'm in!"
Ceyda Peker - Documentation / research Responsible (AEGEE-Eskisehir)
Studying Economics in Anadolu University."I have been a member of AEGEE since 2008. Now I am a juridical commissioner of AEGEE-Eskisehir. In addition, I am a member of HED Project's sub team as a documentation responsible/researcher. Travelling, learning foreign language, cooking & eating, reading articles about economics and sleeping are some of my hobbies. Lastly, my philosophy is: "Every choice has a cost!"
"I have studied Political Science at the Complutense University of Madrid and the University of Copenhagen. I have worked with student exchange programmes in the University of Porto. I am open- minded person that loves challenges and travelling around the world.
I believe education is very important and investing in Higher Education is the right thing to do for Europe at the moment, in the near future and ten years from now. Higher Education should not just be a privilege for some, but a right of all citizens.
Be active for better European Higher Education!"
Ana Dumbara - Public Relations Coordinator (AEGEE-Bucuresti)

That's why we need to make sure that our system is improved constantly."

Milica Milanovic - Public Relations Coordinator
I joined AEGEE and this project in order to become a socially aware and active in questions of student initiative, especially the one which concerns our education and future. I believe that gathered around Higher Education Days project we can make a change and improve the quality of our education and make our voice heard and acknowledged. As youth activists, we feel there is a strong need for young people to participate in the Higher Education decision making process, because a student-centered approach may be fostered at European level only with the help of students. Since one of the aims of the Bologna reform is that of moving towards a learner-centered education, it seems clear to us that if education must focus on students, their opinions and especially their needs related to Higher Education deserve bigger focus and attention. Together, I believe that we can bring about the change we all need and lead the future in the direction of our desires not simply bow to the already made rules. The world, I feel is ours for the taking.
Roxana Ivan - Fund Raising Responsible
Higher Education Days aims at looking at the needs of young people today in a changing economic and social environment, offering them a voice and a platform where they can communicate with decision makers and offer suggestions for shaping the educational system in Europe. I fully support the ambitious aims of the HED team to draft a position paper of the entire European youth which should be no more and no less than a wake-up call for the people who have the power to decide about the present and future of Education.
Sophie Zafeiri - Public Relations Coordinator
The reason I firstly joined this group of people is because I firmly believe that through education we can achieve unreachable goals and a better tomorrow, without stereotypes and prejudices. I was even more involved to it after I saw the dedication of the members to the project and their inspirational behavior. As about me I would describe me as a typical volunteer worker!
